Project Manager

The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful implementation of the firm’s technology initiatives.  This person will establish project delivery requirements, develop effective delivery plans and successfully execute deliverables to meet client objectives.  The Project Manager will manage delivery timelines, necessary resource allocation and budget parameters that are closely tracked to ensure milestones are completed on time and within budget.  This person will seek to mitigate risks and issues in order to ensure that they are resolved in a timely manner.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders and technical staff
  • Coordinate the implementation of a new packaged ERP solution
  • Report progress to the VP of IT on a timely basis 
  • Execute Project Management best practices to technology solutions
  • Work with the business stakeholders in translating business requirements into effective technology solutions
  • Assist the VP of IT with financial management and reporting of all IT assets and purchases across the department 
  • Contribute to preparation of project reviews and executive reporting and develop presentations to senior management
  • Document project scope and requirements and estimate project costs
  • Create detailed project plans including breakdown structures, project schedules, costs and risk management plans
  • Manage the project team and identify and resolve project issues
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders including vendors and business areas when necessary
  • Help drive IT performance to higher levels to improve user satisfaction
  • Participate in special IT projects such as corporate strategy support
 
Requirements:
  • 4-6 years’ experience as a Project Manager
  • Detail and task oriented
  • Comfortable speaking with executive management, project stakeholders and system users 
  • Ability to drive results and hold the team accountable
  • Broad knowledge of Business Systems Analysis
  • Solid technology background 
  • Experience managing both packaged software implementations and custom development IT projects
  • Ability to mentor technical staff
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and strong business performance management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration or related IT or management discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Must be able to work onsite in downtown Chicago (sorry no working remote)
 
Nice-to-have:
  • PMP Certification or in process to take the exam
Compensation Target:
              $70 – $90k annual salary upon conversion, depending on experience
